Job Requirements
- Valid driver's license and MVR acceptable to insurance carrier
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands, talk and hear regularly
- Ability to reach with hands and arms frequently
- Ability to occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and instructions
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Willingness to work Saturdays and flexible hours as needed
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Basic knowledge of automotive service processes preferred
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Customer service experience is a plus
- Ability to operate a vehicle safely
- Willingness to learn and develop as a service advisor
- Ability to work weekends including Saturdays
Job Duties
- Schedule service appointments
- Obtain customer and vehicle data prior to arrival
- Greet service department customers promptly and courteously
- Call to schedule special order parts appointments
- Schedule and file glass claims
- Operate customer shuttle and move service vehicles as needed
- Develop skills as an advisor and work Saturday business
- Assist with writing shop purchase orders and used car repair orders
- Write up customer vehicle problems accurately on repair orders
- Test drive vehicle with customer to confirm problems or refer to test technician
- Refer to service history and recommend additional needed service
- Handle telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process
- Report customer concerns to Service Manager
