Job Requirements
- must have transportation to work
- high school graduate or equivalent preferred
- able to work in all elements including heat, cold, rain, and snow
- employees must always have required tools
- work from all types of ladders including step ladders up to 14 feet, A-frame ladders, and all size extension ladders
- able to relocate a 12-foot step ladder alone
- perform work at various heights up to 90 feet
- work in restricted areas such as switchgear rooms, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, and attics
- always wear personal protective equipment including hard hats, safety glasses, and respirators when required
- repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
- able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with overtime and night shifts as needed
- willing to apply for and maintain a State of Texas Electrical Apprentice License
Job Qualifications
- high school graduate or equivalent preferred
- ability to read and comprehend safety rules and policies
- basic mechanical skills
- willingness to learn electrical trade
- good physical health to perform required physical activities
- ability to work in various weather conditions
- able to follow instructions under supervision
- teamwork and communication skills
Job Duties
- assist electricians by performing tasks under direct supervision
- keep materials, tools, and equipment in an orderly fashion
- maintain a clean work area
- demonstrate safe work habits and proper tool care
- conduit bending
- install electrical equipment such as switchgear, panels, and starters
- pull and terminate wire
- install light fixtures
- install lighting controls
- install all types of devices
- troubleshoot electrical systems
- read and comprehend safety rules and MSDS sheets
