Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- no prior experience required
- physical ability to lift or move up to 100 pounds
- ability to stand for long periods
- basic knowledge of cleaning solvents and proper application
- ability to work in varying weather conditions
- punctuality and reliable attendance
- ability to follow instructions
- ability to interact positively with students, staff, and others
- willingness to participate in apprenticeship classes and training
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to operate and maintain basic cleaning equipment including buffers, extractors, and auto scrubbers
- basic reading and math skills
- ability to follow oral and/or written instructions
- aptitude for minor equipment adjustments
- good communication skills
- ability to work well within specific guidelines and take direction
- willingness to learn and attend apprenticeship training
Job Duties
- Assist with routine maintenance of school and district buildings
- check and secure building at the beginning and end of shift
- clean rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways, and other areas
- wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, sills, and touchpoints
- maintain, clean, and sanitize restrooms
- fill soap, paper towel, toilet paper, and other dispensers
- mop or run auto scrubber
- extract/bonnet carpets
- assist with floor refinishing
- remove garbage
- maintain grounds including mowing, edging, removing snow, ice, debris, weeding, raking, watering, sweeping
- remove graffiti and repair vandalism
- repair furniture, lockers, doors, and small equipment
- prepare and set up rooms for meetings and activities and clean up afterwards
- help maintain and operate mechanical systems
- assist locking and unlocking doors
- be involved with security of building after hours
- turn on/off security and lock/unlock the building
- attend all required apprenticeship classes and complete demonstrations and competency logs
- perform duties to maintain an 80 percent or higher VEKTR inspection
- other duties as assigned
