Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- valid HVAC certification
- proven maintenance or technical experience in HVAC systems
- must have valid driver's license and insurance coverage
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and on-call
- must provide own personal tools and transportation
- strong physical ability to lift heavy equipment and perform strenuous tasks
- good communication skills
- must maintain a good driving record
- comply with all Fair Housing laws
- pass background check
- complete 90-day probationary period
Job Qualifications
- valid HVAC certification
- experience with troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems
- knowledge of electrical systems and repair
- skills in plumbing repair and appliance maintenance
- ability to perform minor carpentry and flooring installation
- capability to operate and maintain vehicles such as golf carts
- ability to handle chemicals safely and knowledge of pool maintenance is preferred
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and on-call shifts
- valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- teamwork skills and professional demeanor
Job Duties
- maintaining the "Mahaffey Hospitality" reputation by promoting polite and professional public relations among residents, non-residents, staff and management
- troubleshooting, repairing and replacing electrical systems, compressors, coils in HVAC units including operating Freon Recovery Unit and maintaining logs
- repairing heating problems including soldering and welding
- replacing electrical wiring, breakers, switches, relays, outlets, lighting and coaxial systems
- repairing gutters, downspouts and ridge vents including attic work
- repairing plumbing elements such as drain lines, toilets, faucets, sinks, and water heaters
- repairing appliances including refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, washers and dryers
- repairing carpet including patching, seaming and shampooing
- driving and maintaining golf carts including batteries, brakes and wiring while practicing safe driving
- repairing and replacing windows, screens, doors and locks
- sealing windows, backsplashes, sinks and tubs with caulking or grouting
- performing minor carpentry repairs, installing flooring and maintaining workshop inventory
- mixing chemicals and cleaning pools with proper equipment maintenance and CPO certification
- lifting heavy equipment using safe techniques
- safely mixing and handling chemicals
- completing physically demanding repairs involving bending, twisting, stooping and climbing ladders
- reporting lease infractions to management office
- operating company golf carts
- following safe workplace rules and practices
- working regular shifts and additional hours as directed
- providing own personal dependable transportation and tools with an offered fuel and vehicle maintenance allowance
- maintaining valid driver’s license and insurance coverage
- abiding by Fair Housing laws
