Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to attend to detail in fast-paced surgical settings
  • Capability to follow strict protocols for equipment handling and medication management
  • Availability to respond to on-call situations as needed
  • Good physical stamina for transport and setup of equipment
  • Commitment to patient safety and teamwork

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment
  • Experience working in a healthcare or surgical environment preferred
  • Proficiency with anesthesia equipment and patient monitoring systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a perioperative team
  • Knowledge of infection control and equipment sterilization procedures

Job Duties

  • Prepare and organize equipment and supplies for scheduled and emergent anesthetizing cases
  • Review surgical schedules to ensure essential anesthesia equipment availability
  • Transport and set up anesthesia equipment including laryngoscope blades, monitors, EKG cables, ETCO2 lines, pulse oximetry cables, temperature cables, and oxygen tanks/tubing
  • Assure all equipment is decontaminated and in good working condition prior to each procedure
  • Follow department procedures for procurement and handling of non-controlled medications, IV fluids, contrast media, and irrigating fluids
  • Perform room turnover between procedures including cleaning, restocking anesthesia supplies, and cleaning/storing equipment
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot minor malfunctions of anesthesia equipment and report damaged or unsafe equipment
  • Respond promptly to on-call situations as scheduled
