Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or to be obtained before orientation completion
- Experience in Operating Room housekeeping preferred
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Has the physical and mental health sufficient to accomplish job duties
- Ability to work well with others in a high-activity environment
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or to be obtained before orientation completion
- Experience in Operating Room housekeeping preferred
- General housekeeping experience acceptable
- Experience in cleaning and processing surgical instrumentation is preferred
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to maintain records and label items
- Has the physical and mental health sufficient to accomplish job duties
- Ability to work well with others in a high-activity environment
Job Duties
- Perform terminal cleaning of the Surgical Services Department
- Carry out all daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly housekeeping duties
- Collaborate closely with Operating Room RN's to ensure surgical equipment is clean and available
- Safely transport patients to and from the surgical department
- Assist RNs in transporting patients back to nursing units
- Replace stock items in supply carts in each Operating Room
- Maintain good public relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff
