Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or to be obtained before orientation completion
  • Experience in Operating Room housekeeping preferred
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Has the physical and mental health sufficient to accomplish job duties
  • Ability to work well with others in a high-activity environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or to be obtained before orientation completion
  • Experience in Operating Room housekeeping preferred
  • General housekeeping experience acceptable
  • Experience in cleaning and processing surgical instrumentation is preferred
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to maintain records and label items
  • Has the physical and mental health sufficient to accomplish job duties
  • Ability to work well with others in a high-activity environment

Job Duties

  • Perform terminal cleaning of the Surgical Services Department
  • Carry out all daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly housekeeping duties
  • Collaborate closely with Operating Room RN's to ensure surgical equipment is clean and available
  • Safely transport patients to and from the surgical department
  • Assist RNs in transporting patients back to nursing units
  • Replace stock items in supply carts in each Operating Room
  • Maintain good public relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff
