Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- Minimum 3 months experience in a similar role
- Basic knowledge of customer service principles and restaurant operations
- Familiarity with cash-handling procedures
- Proficiency in oral and written English
- Visual ability to read detailed information in low light
- Manual dexterity for handling and carrying items
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs
- Capacity to perform physical activities such as balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
- Mobility to travel 300 feet regularly during shift
- Ability to stand continuously during service hours
- Moderate hearing ability
- Excellent vision for product inspection
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and multitask
- Organizational skills and attention to detail under busy conditions
- Ability to handle customer service challenges tactfully
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar position of 3 months or longer
- Basic knowledge of customer service principles, food server function, and restaurant and kitchen operations
- Knowledge of standard cash-handling procedures
- Fluent in oral and written English
- Ability to see detailed guest checks, computer printouts, and written instructions in dimly lit conditions
- Manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items, and balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages
Job Duties
- Greet and take food and drink orders from restaurant customers, serving the orders and accommodating special needs or requests
- Remain attentive to customers throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards
- Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing sidework as instructed
- Memorize menu items, recipes and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations to customers
- Maintain cleanliness standards in restaurant, waitstation and kitchen service area to satisfy state and local health board requirements
- Control allocated guest checks following established check-use procedures and document all required information legibly
- Receive proper payment from guests and ensure accuracy of guest checks and method of payment
- Attend all pre-meal and departmental meetings to enhance communication and gain knowledge of products, service, and facility
- Respond to customer inquiries and comments in person and on phone by providing timely and knowledgeable information
- Present a clean and professional appearance at all times
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
