Job Description

The role of Pastry Cook is a vital position within Hai Hospitality's kitchen team, specifically focused on dessert preparation and pastry production. This role caters primarily to our morning to mid-afternoon shift, typically from 7 AM to 3 PM, aligning with prep schedules to ensure that our dessert offerings are impeccable by dinner service. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and other employees
  • Detect and identify safety issues and comply with safety guidelines and standards
  • Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold
  • Maintain a neat and organized workspace including proper storage and cleaning

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in pastry production or baking
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment

  • Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work morning to mid-afternoon shifts typically from 7am to 3pm
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods during shifts

Job Duties

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries and desserts for dinner service
  • Create dessert sauces and work with chocolate as part of pastry production
  • Maintain a clean and organized pastry station, ensuring all supplies are adequately stocked
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to time dessert production efficiently to meet service demands
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards while handling food and kitchen equipment
  • Monitor quality and presentation of all pastry products before service
  • Assist in inventory management and restocking of pastry ingredients
