Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year experience as a line cook in a hotel or full-service restaurant
  • ability to obtain food handling and sanitation certification within four weeks of hire
  • good attitude and work ethic
  • ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to follow recipes and presentation standards

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience as a line cook at a hotel or full-service restaurant
  • ability to obtain food handling and sanitation certification within four weeks of hire
  • commensurate or transfer skill set is of primary importance
  • good attitude and work ethic practices in order to attain maximum operating efficiency while ensuring adherence to established guest satisfaction criteria
  • able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required

Job Duties

  • Complete opening duties including set up work station with required tools, equipment, and supplies according to standards
  • inspect the cleanliness and working condition of all tools, equipment, and supplies
  • check production schedule and pars
  • establish priority items for the day
  • inform the Chef/Kitchen Manager of any supplies that need to be requisitioned for the day’s tasks
  • transport supplies from the storeroom and stock in designated areas
  • start prep work on items needed for the particular menu of the day
  • prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides according to department standards
  • inform the Chef/Kitchen Manager of any shortages before the item runs out
  • inform F&B service staff of 86’d items and the amount of available menu specials throughout the meal period
