Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in a professional kitchen
  • Solid knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards
  • Proficiency in preparing a wide range of dishes including use of grills, fryers, slicers, and ovens
  • Experienced in short-order cooking and high-volume breakfast service
  • Skilled in preparing breakfast items such as eggs, omelets, pancakes, and griddle-based dishes
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to produce high-quality, well-prepared, and visually appealing dishes
  • Effective task prioritization and working efficiently during busy periods
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a hot kitchen environment
  • Flexibility to work AM shifts starting between 5am - 11am, including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of hot and cold food items including salads, desserts, appetizers, grilled ingredients, croutons, and cooked vegetables
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as grills, deep fryers, ovens, and electric slicers while following safety protocols
  • Retrieve, organize, store, and rotate ingredients ensuring freshness and proper labeling
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work environment, food preparation areas, kitchen equipment, and storage spaces
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation and assist in plating and garnishing dishes
  • Ensure all dishes are attractively presented and meet quality standards of Prairie Kitchen and Bar
