Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • one to two years of experience in a related position
  • sauté and grill experience required
  • physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds regularly
  • ability to stand continuously during shifts
  • capability to work in temperature extremes from -10 to over 100 degrees
  • good hearing to detect equipment timers
  • ability to understand and follow instructions verbally and in writing

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • one to two years of experience in a related kitchen position
  • sauté and grill experience
  • knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures
  • ability to perform non-repetitive analytical kitchen work
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Job Duties

  • Check all items against recipe cards and verify use records
  • monitor line setup prior to meal functions
  • ensure equipment maintenance and adherence to clean-as-you-go policy
  • prepare food following recipe cards and portion standards
  • start food items prepared ahead of time while avoiding overproduction
  • date and rotate food containers per SOP
  • check pars and determine preparation needs
  • note out-of-stock items or shortages
  • assist in keeping buffet stocked
  • return unused food items to storage with proper coverage and dating
  • assist in planning and actions to correct food cost issues
  • control food waste, loss, and usage per SOP
