Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • one to two years of relevant experience in food service or hospitality
  • ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds regularly
  • ability to stand and move around for long periods
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and kneeling
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • experience of one to two years in a related position
  • knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures to perform analytical work
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately

Job Duties

  • Check all items against the recipe cards
  • verify that use records are followed for all items served
  • ensure food is presented in an efficient, quality manner
  • monitor the line set up prior to all meal functions for efficiency
  • monitor equipment maintenance and enforce the kitchen clean as you go policy
  • prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards
  • start food items prepared ahead of time without exceeding estimated needs
  • date and rotate all food containers according to SOP
  • check pars for shift use and prepare necessary items
  • note any out-of-stock items or shortages
  • assist in keeping buffet stocked
  • return unused food items to designated storage areas ensuring proper coverage and dating
  • assist in setting up plans to correct food cost problems and control food waste, loss, and usage according to SOP
