Job Requirements

  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • must have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
  • possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
  • be able to work in a standing position for long periods
  • be able to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing up to 25 pounds

Job Duties

  • Welcome and greet guests
  • inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • make recommendations guests will enjoy
  • answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant services
  • take food and beverage orders and enter them in the point-of-sale system
  • deliver food and beverages to guests promptly
  • perform side work at the start and end of shifts
  • maintain clean service areas
  • monitor guests dining experience and respond to requests
  • prepare final bills and process payments
  • assist fellow servers as needed
  • assist busser with clearing and resetting tables
  • thank guests and invite them to return
  • be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth operations
  • attend employee meetings and offer suggestions
  • perform other duties as assigned
