Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three to five years’ experience in quantity food production in an upscale operation
- Minimum of one year pastry experience in high volume, upscale hotel or free standing restaurant with banquet operation
- Proven culinary skills and knowledge of food production techniques
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of standard kitchen equipment and its use
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Three to five years’ experience in quantity food production in an upscale operation with a minimum of one year pastry experience in a high volume, upscale, hotel or free standing restaurant with banquet operation
- Proven culinary skills and knowledge of food production techniques
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of standard kitchen equipment and its use
Job Duties
- Sets up and organizes work area with all necessary supplies and equipment
- Prepares pastry and dessert items as directed
- Stores food products prior to final assembly
- Receives, inspects, rotates all food products to ensure that only fresh, high quality ingredients are used and ensures that all products are stored properly
- Ensures that all standardized recipes, plating and presentation guidelines, portion control and garnish requirements are adhered to at all times
- Ensures that a quality product is prepared and served in a timely manner with minimal waste
- Uses knives, slicers, mixers, choppers, grinders and all other equipment in a safe manner according to the manufacturers recommendations
- Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area and ensures sanitation standards are followed at all times
- Helps in other areas of the kitchen as needed
- Adheres to departmental guidelines, policies and procedures
