Job Requirements
- ged or high school diploma
- able to lift up to 20 pounds without assistance
- move quickly and efficiently within the cafe
- ability to hear and communicate effectively in English
- good vision with attention to detail
- flexibility to bend and squat as needed for cleaning and stocking
- ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
- capable of operating a cash register or tablet device accurately
- full hand functionality to operate espresso machine, steamers, and other tools
- dexterity and coordination for beverage preparation
- ability to speak clearly and project voice effectively
Job Qualifications
- previous experience in a cafe or restaurant setting preferred but not required
- a passion for working with the public in a customer-facing capacity
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work well in a team environment and under pressure
- positive attitude and willingness to learn
- flexibility to attend quarterly team meetings or trainings outside of regular working hours
- ability to maintain a minimum of 3 shifts per week
Job Duties
- greet guests warmly, deliver exceptional service, and anticipate needs
- explain beverage and food options, answer questions, and build customer rapport
- handle phone inquiries, process orders accurately, and manage mobile app operations
- maintain a calm and welcoming presence during busy periods
- craft consistent, high-quality beverages following Alfred standards
- maintain coffee equipment and understand coffee and tea origins and flavor profiles
- prepare food according to Alfred recipes, understand food handling protocols, explain food options to customers, and maintain a clean prep space
- report safety hazards to the manager on duty
- collaborate effectively with colleagues through active listening, clear communication, and a solution-oriented approach
- inform management of operational inconsistencies and perform duties with a team focus
- ensure a clean and organized work environment, restock shelves, and assist with deliveries
- report operational inconsistencies and maintain a safe work environment by following hygiene protocols along with food and health safety standards
- follow all company procedures for cash handling, food safety, cafe organization, sanitation, and hygiene
- maintain consistent attendance, provide advance notice for scheduling conflicts, and adhere to company policies
- adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in company's employee handbook
- perform any other tasks assigned to meet company goals
