Job Description

Conservation Legacy is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging young adults in meaningful conservation and community service projects. Through its Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps (ALCC) program, Conservation Legacy offers unique opportunities for motivated individuals ages 17 to 30 to contribute to environmental stewardship across the Western United States. Job Requirements

  • Ability to frequently hike and walk long distances
  • Ability to use hands and arms to operate tools safely
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Successful completion of Wilderness First Aid and OHLEC chainsaw training
  • Willingness to follow directions and safety guidelines
  • Compliance with AmeriCorps eligibility and background checks
  • Ability to self-administer prescribed medications if needed

Job Qualifications

  • United States citizen, United States national, or lawful permanent resident alien
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate or enrolled in education
  • Willingness to commit to full term of service
  • Ability to work long days in varying weather conditions
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to learn and apply new outdoor skills

Job Duties

  • Complete chainsaw operation and maintenance after training
  • Participate in fuels reduction and sustainable forestry projects
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a conservation crew
  • Adhere to safety and environmental protocols
  • Communicate hazards and project progress clearly
  • Apply Leave No Trace techniques on all assignments
  • Attend training sessions and engage in educational programs
