Job Requirements
- must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions serving alcohol)
- able to stand for extended periods
- able to lift and stock up to 50 lbs
- able to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- able to work in a fast-paced environment
- must comply with all health and safety regulations
- willingness to accept part-time work if necessary
- internal candidates must have leader endorsement
- rehires require HR approval
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a culinary or food preparation role preferred
- strong creativity and passion for food preparation and presentation
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food service
- ability to plan and develop menus
- experience with catering services is an asset
- strong teamwork and customer service focus
Job Duties
- work with the deli/bistro team lead and executive chef to achieve sales, product quality, presentation and customer service goals
- plan, develop and present various menus using expertise and creativity
- answer phones and take special orders
- maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and team members
- engage with customers through smiles and greetings, offering product information and selling suggestions
- facilitate catered events from beginning to end
- work with catering director and executive chef on menu planning and production for catering events
- demonstrate excellent communication and salesmanship skills with clients and vendors
- maintain open communication with deli/bistro department, catering department, and management
- ensure compliance with health department policies and food safety regulations
- control food cost by monitoring production and implementing reworks
- perform all related duties as assigned
