Job Requirements

  • US citizenship
  • Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
  • Submission of SF50 form
  • Designated or random drug testing required
  • Successful completion of security investigation may be required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Signed supervisory endorsement if selection is a promotion
  • Compliance with FAA employment policies and procedures
  • Willingness to undergo background investigation and probationary period
  • Commitment to uphold federal government ideals and rule of law

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of technology system interrelationships and management of aviation, navigation, and electronics systems
  • Experience at a level of complexity equivalent to FAA Pay Band H/Level III or FG/GS-12
  • Demonstrated abilities in handling technical challenges and project management in aviation systems
  • Clear and concise narrative statements describing education, training, and experience for each demonstrated ability
  • Ability to work independently and resolve unique problems without managerial intervention

Job Duties

  • Serve as an ATSS (SSC Coordinator) responsible for NAS operations
  • Perform complex analysis, design, development, installation, repair, fabrication, maintenance, modification, and evaluation of FAA systems
  • Maintain technical expertise on legacy and new systems across large facilities or geographical areas
  • Integrate, restore, test, and evaluate new service components and hardware/software systems
  • Act as principal technical specialist and project manager for major NAS projects
  • Provide technical guidance and coordinate solutions for unique technical problems
  • Evaluate diagnostic data and monitor system status, assist in repair and restoration efforts
  • Lead teams and monitor other employees on technical projects
  • Manage all aspects of SSC projects including planning, specification review, implementation, inspections, and asset disposition
  • Identify and track resource requirements for projects including staffing, materials, and equipment
  • Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to FAA employees and contractors
  • Apply operational risk management and ensure adherence to safety practices and PPE usage
  • Report status of critical events and system availability to upper management
  • Perform other duties as assigned
