Job Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in aviation management, aviation science, airport management or closely related field
- two years of experience in airport operations including compliance and facility inspections at a FAR Part 139 airport
- possession of a valid driver's license at time of appointment
- possession of a valid California driver's license within 60 days of appointment
- successful completion of department interview
- passing of Department of Justice fingerprint check
- signing a confidentiality agreement
- provision of proof of valid driver's license and current driving record
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in aviation management, aviation science, airport management or closely related field
- two years of experience in airport operations including compliance and facility inspections
- experience working at a FAR Part 139 airport
- knowledge of FAA Part 139 and Part 1542 regulations
- ability to monitor and interpret federal, state and local airport regulations
- strong leadership and supervisory skills
- excellent communication and organizational skills
Job Duties
- Perform advanced and complex airport operations management duties
- conduct inspections and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local airport regulations
- plan, coordinate, supervise and evaluate the work of assigned staff
- maintain department compliance with changing regulations
- monitor and interpret FAA, TSA, and Airport rules and regulations
- inspect airfield, terminal, perimeter, grounds and personnel to ensure safety and operational standards
- report deficient conditions and recommend corrective actions
