Job Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in aviation management, aviation science, airport management or closely related field
  • two years of experience in airport operations including compliance and facility inspections at a FAR Part 139 airport
  • possession of a valid driver's license at time of appointment
  • possession of a valid California driver's license within 60 days of appointment
  • successful completion of department interview
  • passing of Department of Justice fingerprint check
  • signing a confidentiality agreement
  • provision of proof of valid driver's license and current driving record

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, aviation science, airport management or closely related field
  • two years of experience in airport operations including compliance and facility inspections
  • experience working at a FAR Part 139 airport
  • knowledge of FAA Part 139 and Part 1542 regulations
  • ability to monitor and interpret federal, state and local airport regulations
  • strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • excellent communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Perform advanced and complex airport operations management duties
  • conduct inspections and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local airport regulations
  • plan, coordinate, supervise and evaluate the work of assigned staff
  • maintain department compliance with changing regulations
  • monitor and interpret FAA, TSA, and Airport rules and regulations
  • inspect airfield, terminal, perimeter, grounds and personnel to ensure safety and operational standards
  • report deficient conditions and recommend corrective actions
