Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid California Motor Vehicle Driver's License
  • Training or experience in general building maintenance and repair
  • Ability to perform minor carpentry, electrical, painting, and plumbing tasks
  • Must be able to pass a written examination with a minimum score of 70 percent
  • Must submit all applicable application materials
  • Ability to work within Kern County Airports Department policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Driver's License
  • Experience or training in general building maintenance and repair
  • Knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical, painting, and plumbing trades
  • Ability to use related tools and equipment
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Perform minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs
  • Use tools, equipment, and materials relevant to general building maintenance
  • Conduct minor road and fence repairs around airport facilities
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in work areas
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation in airport maintenance processes
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure facility integrity
