Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to lift and carry components weighing up to 75 pounds
- ability to climb ladders up to 25 feet
- ability to stand for 60 to 75 percent of an 8-hour shift
- ability to operate forklifts and man lifts (authorized employees only)
- ability to distinguish colors including red, green, yellow, blue, black, brown, white, and orange
- ability to work in high noise level environment with exposure to dust and jet fumes
- effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
- regular and timely attendance
- ability to regulate own work with little supervision
- good balance and coordination
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience working in airport or baggage handling operations preferred
- ability to operate forklifts and man lifts with authorization
- proficiency in using Microsoft operating systems
- good communication skills in English both verbal and written
- ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
- physical ability to bend, stoop, climb, and lift heavy objects
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- good coordination and eyesight
Job Duties
- Operate baggage conveyor belts
- ensure proper spacing of bags on the carousels
- clear baggage jams promptly
- manually move baggage during system outages
- perform general cleanup of work areas
- perform semi-skilled maintenance under supervision
- operate forklift or man lift in congested areas
- drive vehicles up to 3 tons
- communicate effectively in English
- write and type legibly
- assist in training new hires
- clean bag room, MIT and TSA areas
