Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- minimum of one year customer service or hospitality experience required
- valid Class C Texas driver’s license
- ability to pass criminal background check
- ability to obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances
- willingness to work shift schedules including weekends, holidays, and rotations
- physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- ability to perform duties involving walking on rough surfaces and exposure to variable environmental conditions
- compliance with City of Houston driving policies
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- preference given to multilingual skills
- readiness to pass random drug testing and physical examination
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- one year of experience in a customer service or hospitality environment
- proficient multilingual communication skills preferred
- knowledge of federal, state and local airport regulations
- ability to provide excellent customer service and manage diverse customer needs
- strong organizational, leadership and communication skills
- ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with airport partners, peers, City and Houston Airport System officials
- operational experience in an airport environment preferred
- ability to analyze operational deficiencies and propose creative solutions
- knowledge of Safety Management System practices
Job Duties
- Facilitates international passenger departures and arrivals through Federal Inspection Services in collaboration with Customs Border Protection leadership and stakeholders to exceed departmental passenger processing goals
- uses multilingual skills to greet and assist international and domestic visitors and dignitaries such as presidents of foreign countries, consul representatives, international officials, and government representatives
- promotes collaboration and values passenger, business partner and team member input to improve the overall international passenger processing experience and ensure passenger satisfaction
- responsible for all aspects of customer experience including information booth coverage and lost and found to seek solutions and corrective actions for a five-star quality airport
- inspects and reports facility irregularities to ensure readiness and compliance
- promotes a safe, secure and healthy environment for internal and external customers through the Safety Management System program
- complies with departmental policies, procedures and enforces regulatory compliance relative to operational activities
- supports the International Services Departmental fiscal year budget goals
- supports special events, facilitation of dignitaries and VIPs
