Job Requirements
- State driver’s license in good standing
- Operates vehicles landside and airside requiring an Airport Operations Area permit
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and in environments subject to bomb or terrorist threats, irate passengers, large crowds, trespassers, and adverse weather
- Ability to wear personal protective gear and work in noisy environments exceeding 85 decibels
- Availability for 24-hour hold over and recall for essential services and emergencies
- Willingness to work night, weekend, and rotating shifts
- Must successfully undergo a background security investigation
Job Qualifications
- Six years of progressively responsible experience in airport or airline operations or military equivalent as a Security or Operations Officer, or a comparable job class at a Part 139 certified airport or military air installation
- Bachelor’s degree in any field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of airport, airline, or military airport security compliance program management
- Ability to make critical and effective decisions timely and authoritatively
- Knowledge of airport security and safety regulations including 49 CFR Parts 1540, 1542, 14 CFR Part 139, 49 CFR Part 1544 or military equivalents
- Knowledge of supervisory principles to manage operations and programs
- Ability to analyze data and make clear recommendations
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in computer and modern office suite software
- Preferred experience includes two or more years at a TSA Security Category I or higher airport as a Security Coordinator or comparable airline position
- Security certifications from Aviation Industry Associations like ACI or AAAE
- Experience in supervising or managing contracts or Unarmed Guard programs
- Experience using web-based training services or products
Job Duties
- Oversee, develop, implement, and manage Airport Security compliance and enforcement programs in accordance with FAA and TSA regulations
- Serve as an Alternate Airport Security Coordinator upon completion of training
- Manage deployment and oversight of contract security guard services including policy enforcement and performance standards
- Conduct investigations and resolution of security incidents, concerns, and safety violations
- Coordinate with Airport Police, TSA, CBP, FAA, airlines, tenants, and other stakeholders on security matters and emergency events
- Provide program management support to the Airport Security Manager and maintain awareness of security conditions and changing requirements
- Supervise and manage the Safety and Security Specialist
- Develop and manage security training for Airport Operations personnel
- Serve as Contracting Officer's Technical Representative
- Substitute for the Airport Security Manager in their absence
- Perform other related duties as assigned
