Job Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have computer experience of 6 months or more
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be able to navigate electronic devices such as computers, fax machines, printers, time clocks
  • Proven track record in supervising a business unit
  • Experience in operational planning and resource allocation
  • Working knowledge of ground support equipment maintenance
  • Experience and understanding of commercial aviation issues
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Capable of processing information timely
  • Able to speak, read, and write English proficiently
  • Previous ramp or airline experience required
  • Must complete and maintain all training and certifications
  • Must clear FBI fingerprint background check
  • Physically fit for standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
  • Able to repetitively lift up to 70 pounds in confined spaces
  • Willing to work in all weather conditions with noise exposure
  • Able to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours on short notice

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience supervising a business unit
  • Knowledge of operational planning and resource allocation
  • Working knowledge of ground support equipment maintenance
  • Understanding of commercial aviation issues
  • Ability to navigate and use computers and electronic devices
  • Previous ramp or airline experience
  • Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Successful completion of all required training and certifications

Job Duties

  • Establishing shift assignments for full-time and part-time employees
  • Monitoring and ensuring safe operation of all airline ground support equipment
  • Reporting functional and mechanical discrepancies on ground support equipment
  • Coordinating with carriers to meet cargo and baggage service needs and ensure on-time schedules
  • Ensuring equipment is safe and operational
  • Conferring with other supervisors and managers to coordinate departmental activities
  • Determining manpower requirements and fairly conducting disciplinary procedures
  • Ensuring adherence to attendance and tardiness standards
  • Managing operations under pressure and within time constraints
  • Ensuring availability of ground equipment for upcoming flights
  • Reading and interpreting aircraft loading instructions, hazardous materials labels, and baggage routing
  • Complying with all applicable federal, state, local, airport authority, and carrier regulations
  • Briefing crews before flights
  • Performing other duties as assigned
