Job Requirements

  • Must possess computer experience of at least 6 months
  • ability to navigate electronic devices such as computers, fax machines, printers, and timeclocks
  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • capable of processing information in a timely manner
  • must successfully complete all training requirements and maintain certifications
  • must clear an FBI fingerprint background check
  • must have a valid driver’s license
  • able to speak, read, and write in English
  • physical fitness to perform standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
  • able to repetitively lift up to 70 pounds in confined spaces
  • willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and loud noise environments
  • flexibility to work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours on short notice

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • proven track record in supervising a business unit
  • experience in operational planning and resource allocation
  • working knowledge of ground support equipment maintenance
  • understanding of commercial aviation issues
  • proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking
  • basic computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • previous ramp or airline experience
  • ability to successfully complete training requirements and maintain certifications
  • valid driver’s license

Job Duties

  • Establishing shift assignments for fulltime and part-time employees
  • monitoring safe and efficient operation of all airline ground support equipment
  • reporting functional and mechanical discrepancies on ground support equipment
  • coordinating cargo and baggage service with assigned carriers to meet on-time schedules
  • ensuring equipment is maintained in safe and efficient operating status
  • conferring with other supervisors and managers to coordinate activities
  • determining manpower requirements and ensuring disciplinary procedures are fair and consistent
  • complying with attendance and tardiness standards
  • performing under pressure within fixed time constraints
  • ensuring necessary ground equipment availability for upcoming flights
  • reading and interpreting aircraft loading instructions, hazardous materials labels, and baggage routing tags
  • following all federal, state, airport authority, and carrier rules and regulations
  • briefing crews before flights on their positions and flight operations
  • performing other duties as assigned
