Job Requirements

  • Must possess computer experience of 6 or more months
  • ability to navigate electronic devices such as computers, fax machines, printers, and timeclocks
  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • capable of processing information in a timely manner
  • must pass an FBI fingerprint background check
  • must maintain a valid driver’s license
  • physical fitness to perform job duties including standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
  • capable of repetitively lifting up to 70 pounds in confined spaces
  • willing to work outside in all weather conditions with exposure to loud noises
  • flexible availability to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • ability to work extended hours on short notice during non-routine operations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • experience supervising a business unit
  • knowledge of GSE maintenance issues
  • understanding of commercial aviation issues
  • previous ramp or airline experience
  • ability to proficiently speak, read, and write in English
  • basic computer literacy
  • successful completion of all training and certifications
  • valid driver’s license

Job Duties

  • Establish shift assignments for full-time and part-time employees
  • monitor and ensure safe operation of all airline ground support equipment
  • report functional and mechanical discrepancies on ground support equipment
  • coordinate with assigned carriers to meet cargo and baggage service needs and ensure on-time schedules
  • ensure availability and safety of equipment in ramp and baggage areas
  • collaborate with other supervisors and managers to synchronize departmental activities
  • determine manpower requirements and ensure fair and consistent disciplinary actions
  • comply with attendance and tardiness standards
  • perform effectively under pressure and fixed time constraints
  • read and interpret aircraft weight and balance instructions, hazardous materials labels, and baggage routing tags
  • follow all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier regulations
  • ensure crews are briefed before flights on positions and procedures
  • perform other assigned duties
