Job Requirements

  • Must legally be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must maintain a principal residence within Clark County boundaries and comply with Nevada motor vehicle and driver's license laws within 90 days of employment
  • Must pass a medical examination including hearing and vision tests
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must successfully complete an education and experience background investigation and fingerprint-based criminal history record check
  • Must be capable of being granted a Transportation Security Administration security badge
  • Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of hire
  • Must be willing to work day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts including extended hours and emergency callbacks

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of full-time journey-level air traffic controller experience in a large commercial or military airport tower or five years of aviation emergency radio dispatch or ramp control experience
  • Completion of ATI certification may substitute for two years of experience
  • Possession of a Control Tower Operator certificate is desirable
  • Valid Nevada Class C driver's license
  • Ability to operate advanced technological tools
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Experience with gate flow and scheduling software

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and administer ramp control and gate management within the airport non-movement area on assigned shifts
  • Act as liaison between airport operations staff, tenants, and FAA Airport Traffic Control Tower for flow management and aircraft staging
  • Control ground movement of aircraft including gate scheduling, off-gate parking, and hot and cold holding
  • Apply ramp control procedures ensuring safe and efficient aircraft movement acceptable to FAA and airlines
  • Utilize technological tools including gate flow and scheduling software, automated display systems, cameras, and radio communications
  • Maintain operational logs, report maintenance needs, administer on-the-job training, and drive motor vehicles to various work sites and emergencies
  • Contribute to team efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery
