Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- able to work in extreme conditions (e.g., hot and cold weather) and small spaces
- must pass an extensive post-offer, pre-employment background check, including fingerprinting and a criminal history record check as mandated by federal law
- must successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug test
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and baggage routing
- strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills
- possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record
- ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage time effectively
- fluency in English language
- flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo from the aircraft to the airport
- guide aircraft to and from gate positions to maintain on-time connections
- protect baggage and other equipment from damage, loss, and adverse weather conditions
- operate ground equipment such as tugs, cargo carts, service trucks, and belt loaders
- ensure ground equipment is available in the ramp area and bag room for upcoming flights
- prepare the cabin for customer boarding, including cleaning seats, seat pockets, floors, galleys, and lavatories
- assist with record-keeping and documentation to ensure accurate routing of baggage
- adhere to safety guidelines and maintain safe working conditions for yourself and others
- communicate effectively with managers and lead agents to manage daily schedules
- report equipment issues and breakdowns to facilitate quick repairs
- work with multiple carriers, as needed, and perform other duties as assigned
