Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • able to work in extreme conditions (e.g., hot and cold weather) and small spaces
  • must pass an extensive post-offer, pre-employment background check, including fingerprinting and a criminal history record check as mandated by federal law
  • must successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug test

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and baggage routing
  • strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills
  • possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage time effectively
  • fluency in English language
  • flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo from the aircraft to the airport
  • guide aircraft to and from gate positions to maintain on-time connections
  • protect baggage and other equipment from damage, loss, and adverse weather conditions
  • operate ground equipment such as tugs, cargo carts, service trucks, and belt loaders
  • ensure ground equipment is available in the ramp area and bag room for upcoming flights
  • prepare the cabin for customer boarding, including cleaning seats, seat pockets, floors, galleys, and lavatories
  • assist with record-keeping and documentation to ensure accurate routing of baggage
  • adhere to safety guidelines and maintain safe working conditions for yourself and others
  • communicate effectively with managers and lead agents to manage daily schedules
  • report equipment issues and breakdowns to facilitate quick repairs
  • work with multiple carriers, as needed, and perform other duties as assigned
