The Airport Public Safety & Security Coordinator II position is an essential role within the Division of Public Safety and Security, offering an hourly pay range of $29.28 to $34.28. Job Requirements
- Current resident of the State of Wisconsin
- A valid State of Wisconsin driver’s license at time of hire and maintained throughout employment
- Ability to successfully pass Criminal History Records Check, Security Threat Assessment, and Customs and Border Protection background check
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs
- Must possess minimum qualifications at time of filing application
- Availability for 24/7 on-call coverage
Job Qualifications
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, aviation management, public or business administration, information technology, or related degree and 1 year of experience in military services, law enforcement, airport operations or public safety and security or possession of a high school diploma/GED equivalent and 5 years of experience in military services, law enforcement, airport operations or public safety and security
- Ability to become certified as an Airport Security Coordinator within 6 months
- Knowledge of computer and software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, GIS/asset management, communication platforms, identity management control software, CCTV, and access control systems
Job Duties
- Perform inspections and audits of airport facilities, employees, stakeholders, and procedures
- Enforce airport safety and security rules and regulations
- Support Airport ID Badging Office including application review and badge issuance
- Respond and investigate security related incidents and accidents
- Monitor contract security contractors for performance compliance
- Coordinate irregular operations, construction, VIP movements, and special events
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies on airport security needs
- Serve as liaison with stakeholder management concerning security issues
- Assist in general duties and responsibilities of the department
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
