Job Requirements

  • valid class c nevada driver's license at time of appointment
  • ability to work evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts
  • willingness to work extended shifts or be called back in emergencies
  • ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • ability to work in construction environments involving dust, noise, and fumes
  • must pass pre-employment drug testing
  • legal authorization to work in the united states
  • permanent residency within clark county and compliance with local motor vehicle registration and driver's license laws within 90 days of employment
  • completion of education and experience background investigations
  • fingerprint-based criminal history record check
  • ability to be granted a transportation security administration badge
  • ten-year employment and five-year residency history for customs and border protection security seal
  • presentation of two original government issued identifications upon job offer acceptance

Job Qualifications

  • equivalent to two years of college level education in building/facility management, business management, construction management, engineering, or a related field
  • four years of increasingly responsible experience in a maintenance trade, preferably in a large facility
  • professional level experience and/or education that provides skills and knowledge to perform all job functions may substitute on a year-for-year basis
  • experience with computerized maintenance management systems
  • ability to conduct job hazard analysis and ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, and fire codes
  • strong organizational and project management skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • valid class c driver's license

Job Duties

  • act as the first point of contact for internal and external customers seeking support from the facilities work group
  • independently manage lifecycle of multiple projects
  • plan maintenance work orders by creating and maintaining job plan libraries
  • visit job sites and investigate work for feasibility and efficient labor utilization
  • determine the scope of work to be undertaken
  • schedule maintenance and project work for the organization
  • confer with requestors for job requirements clarification
  • prepare detailed estimates including labor, materials, repair parts, special tools, and equipment needed
  • recommend equipment, facility, and process improvements and cost reductions
  • evaluate and prioritize job plans according to urgency, material requirements, equipment and staff availability, operational needs, and documentation requirements
  • prepare job plans and coordinate skilled and unskilled staff
  • coordinate job plans with other facilities planners
  • initiate interventions to solve work planning problems
  • inspect work areas and conduct job hazard analysis
  • assist in identifying and resolving facility compliance issues related to OSHA, ADA, building and fire codes
  • utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to develop and track job plans, safety plans, hazard plans, and equipment hierarchies
  • establish standards for repetitive jobs including preventative and predictive maintenance
  • ensure jobs are planned, assigned, scheduled, performed, and tracked
  • determine material and equipment needs and availability
  • prepare store requisitions and allocate materials to work orders
  • monitor supplies used during regular maintenance to replenish inventory
  • manage outside contractors including maintaining records and contracts
  • report progress and project status verbally and in writing
  • attend meetings as required
  • prepare and maintain accurate records of work done
  • present records for compliance audits
  • prepare internal bill-backs and documentation for supported events
  • keep records of equipment maintenance histories and costs
  • liaison with other work units to obtain drawings and supplies needed
  • facilitate communication and job tasks among business units
  • drive motor vehicle to inspect work sites and respond to emergency situations
