Job Requirements

  • able to work in extreme conditions such as hot and cold weather as well as small spaces
  • eligible to receive appropriate security clearances after satisfactory completion of a criminal background check
  • familiarity with basic computer programs for record-keeping and baggage routing
  • possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • flexible schedule allowing work during nights, weekends, and holidays with some shifts requiring extended hours
  • must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and move items up to 70 pounds or more regularly
  • must be able to observe, judge distances, identify surroundings, hazards, aircrafts, and equipment
  • must be able to communicate by radio and other devices

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED
  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • must be able to obtain credentials required as per airport, state, or customs requirements
  • possess a valid driver’s license
  • must be able to frequently lift more than 70 pounds and constantly lift up to 70 pounds
  • must be able to constantly push, pull up to 70 pounds
  • must be able to constantly walk, stand, reach above shoulder, climb, crawl, stoop, squat, kneel, and bend

Job Duties

  • read and analyze flight, fuel, and payload distribution records of passengers, luggage, freight, and fuel to determine aircraft weight and balance
  • receive and communicate information to and from pilots, ground crew, flight dispatchers, and fuelers accurately and timely
  • complete paperwork, daily logs and forms related to flight departures and arrivals, and input information into computer systems
  • notify ground crew when flights are approaching to prepare for arrival and handle irregular operations as needed
  • prepare dispatch release forms and collect weather reports
  • arrange fueling for aircraft as required
  • maintain all FAA-required files for compliance auditing
  • advise Ramp Agents on flight load distribution
