Job Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in airport management, aviation, or any other field with required years of experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in airport operations for aviation-related degree holders or 5 years for other degree holders
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check
  • Must have Class C Texas Driver’s License
  • Complete Trusted Agent training within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to respond to emergencies on a timely basis including after hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to operate vehicles safely on aprons, taxiways, and runways
  • Ability to lift or exert force up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform complex tasks and communicate effectively
  • Willingness to work in exposure-prone environments including outdoor weather conditions, near aircraft and moving mechanical parts

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in airport management or aviation-related field with minimum of 3 years experience at a large reliever or commercial service airport
  • OR bachelor's degree in any other field with minimum of 5 years experience in airport operations
  • Experience in supervisory role preferred
  • AAAE Certified Member (CM) or Airport Certified Employee (ACE) credential is highly desirable
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, FAR Parts 77 and 139, CFR Part 1542, and FAA Advisory Circulars
  • Proficiency in using various computer applications and adaptability to new technology
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage resources efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance and training to others
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Supervises airport operations personnel including evaluating, interviewing, hiring, instructing, assigning, scheduling, monitoring, and reviewing work
  • Conducts daily self-inspections of movement and non-movement areas, airport signage, lighting, and navigational aids
  • Oversees airport credentialing program and maintains security systems including cameras and access controls
  • Responds to airport emergencies and coordinates with Air Traffic Control Tower
  • Facilitates training programs on airfield operations, security, emergency response, and compliance with FAR Part 139 and CFR Part 1542
  • Assists in updating and maintaining airport certification, security, emergency plans, and management programs
  • Monitors construction and maintenance activities to ensure safety and operational efficiency
  • Performs safety inspections of fuel storage and refueling procedures
  • Ensures compliance with FAA and TSA regulations and enforces airport rules and regulations
  • Acts as airport representative in absence of director and manager
  • Removes foreign object debris from operational areas
  • Responds to inquiries and liaises with tenants, government agencies, and the public
  • Assists with budget planning and preparation
  • Coordinates contractor and vendor access to airport facilities
