Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- must wear provided uniforms and personal protective equipment
- maintain a valid driver's license meeting insurance requirements
- ability to operate motorized vehicles for extended periods
- access all airport areas for inspections
- available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- pass continual training, security, and employment requirements
- possess English language skills in speaking, reading, and writing
- physically able to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- use hands and fingers for typing and handling objects
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 99 pounds with assistance
- have vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception
- auditory ability to decipher radio communications and alarms
- tolerate noise levels up to 150 decibels
- willing to work in inclement weather including extreme cold and heat
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Airport Operations, or related field preferred
- minimum 2-3 years experience in airport operations or similar role
- supervisory experience a plus
- AAAE ACE Certification preferred
- pilot's license preferred
- strong knowledge of FAA regulations, airport security, and operations
- proficient in airport systems, radios, and office software
- ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to respond to emergencies
- valid driver's license
Job Duties
- Safely perform all tasks of the Airport Operations Officer unsupervised
- supervise and coordinate airport operations including airside, landside, and terminal areas during assigned shifts
- act as counterpart to Operations and Safety Manager during assigned shifts
- monitor airport activities to ensure FAA, TSA, and airport regulations compliance
- respond to and manage emergencies including aircraft incidents and medical emergencies
- serve as primary on-site authority during irregular operations and emergencies
- coordinate airfield closures, construction, and events with stakeholders
- maintain daily inspection reports and work orders
- participate in snow removal and wildlife management activities
- communicate professionally over radio, telephone, and email
