Job Requirements

  • Must be an Alaska resident
  • Eight years experience in aviation and airport maintenance activities
  • Two years of journey level airport operations and regulatory compliance inspections
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Eligible for airport identification badge requiring fingerprinting and background check
  • Ability to work under emergency and operational conditions
  • Ability to use Alaska Public Safety Information Network
  • Copies of college transcripts required if education is used to meet qualifications
  • Must comply with federal firearm restrictions if role involves wildlife hazard control
  • Availability for recall duty
  • Ability to possess a first aid card

Job Qualifications

  • Eight years experience in aviation and airport maintenance activities
  • Two years experience in journey level airport operations and regulatory compliance inspections
  • Knowledge of federal and state aviation regulations including FAA and TSA requirements
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Effective oral and written communication abilities
  • Experience with personnel security and safety operations
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility for airport identification badge
  • Education in aviation management, transportation, business, or public administration is preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee terminal and landside operations to ensure safe and efficient movement of aircraft, passengers, and vehicles
  • Manage multiple operational units and supervise staff on a 24/7 basis
  • Direct airport activities during daily operations and emergency situations
  • Ensure compliance with federal aviation regulations and standards
  • Coordinate with key agencies and stakeholders including FAA and TSA
  • Lead development and implementation of policies, personnel management, training programs, and safety initiatives
  • Monitor and assess airport security and safety procedures to maintain regulatory compliance
