The City of Boise is actively seeking dedicated individuals to join their airport security team as Airport Security Officers. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid state-issued driver’s license
  • ability to pass city of Boise background check including criminal history and reference checks
  • ability to pass driving record check
  • ability to pass TSA background check (SIDA)
  • capable of performing all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • capable of operating vehicles safely with acceptable driving record

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • knowledge of FAA and TSA regulations
  • familiarity with airport and airline operations and security
  • understanding of federal, state, and local laws and policies related to airport operations
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to prepare clear and accurate reports
  • proficiency with computer software and security access tracking
  • ability to handle stressful and emergency situations calmly
  • valid state-issued driver’s license
  • preferred one year of experience with TSA 1542 compliance or aviation/military background
  • preferred certifications such as ACE, ASOS, FEMA NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800

Job Duties

  • Conduct security patrols across airport property and perimeter fence line
  • enforce TSA and FAA regulations and airport rules
  • perform security inspections of people, vehicles, and property using various tools and equipment
  • monitor access control systems and CCTV using computer software
  • respond to alarms and emergencies including medical incidents
  • manage customer service phone calls and assist airport community
  • operate flight information and emergency notification systems
