Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid state-issued driver's license
  • ability to pass City of Boise background check including criminal history and reference checks
  • successful Transportation Security Administration background check (SIDA)
  • driving record check
  • capability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation
  • physical ability to work in varied weather and environment conditions
  • ability to handle moderate physical effort including lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds
  • availability to work varying shifts including holidays and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • knowledge of FAA and TSA regulations
  • understanding of airport and airline operations and security
  • familiarity with federal, state, and local laws and policies related to certified commercial airports
  • ability to prepare clear and accurate reports
  • effective communication skills in English
  • ability to prioritize work during emergencies
  • computer proficiency including usage of security software
  • capability to perform essential security functions under 49 CFR 1542
  • valid state driver's license
  • ability to operate vehicles safely

Job Duties

  • Conduct security patrols across airport property and perimeter fence line
  • enforce Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations
  • perform security inspections of people, property, and vehicles
  • monitor movement and airport access through security access tracking software
  • respond to all alarms and emergencies
  • operate and monitor closed-circuit television (CCTV) and access control systems
  • provide customer service to the public and airport community
  • maintain lost and found programs
  • manage incoming customer service phone calls
  • assist and guide airlines and airport vendors
  • regulate and enforce airport rules and regulations
  • respond to clerk's office and court proceedings when tickets are contested
  • operate radio and phone systems to communicate emergencies and airport functions
  • operate flight information and weather displays
  • report airport conditions including foreign object debris and winter conditions
  • interact with victims, emergency responders, and witnesses
  • complete appropriate incident reports
  • work with incident command
  • perform additional duties as assigned
