Job Requirements
- high school diploma or ged
- one year of experience in airport operations or administration or equivalent education and training
- ability to interact well with the general public and airport stakeholders
- ability to communicate standards of performance and provide constructive guidance
- proficiency in microsoft word, excel and powerpoint
- valid driver's license maintained to meet insurance requirements
- ability to pass random drug screenings, background investigation and security training
- ability to learn and understand federal aviation regulations and airport safety standards
- ability to make sound judgments in emergency situations
- ability to conduct classroom training and emergency exercises
- good English communication skills
- ability to operate a motor vehicle
- sufficient visual and auditory acuity

Job Qualifications
- bachelor's degree in aviation management, aviation science, business administration or related field preferred
- or high school diploma with equivalent combination of education, training and experience

- strong communication skills and ability to prepare clear reports and presentations
- proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- valid driver's license
- ability to pass background investigation, drug screening, and security identification training
- knowledge of federal, state and local aviation regulations
- ability to learn airport administration, operations, safety and maintenance principles
- sound judgement in emergency situations
- ability to conduct training and real-time emergency exercises
- good English skills including spelling, grammar and punctuation
Job Duties
- manage the daily operation of the airport by conducting airfield, terminal, and landside facility inspections to ensure airport policies, procedures, compliance and customer service are maintained
- document and analyze inspection results and coordinate corrective actions to comply with the Airport Certification Manual and applicable federal regulations
- inspect airfield facilities including grounds, safety areas, runways, taxiways, fencing, gates, aircraft aprons, taxilanes and service roadways for safety, security, and efficiency
- monitor airfield activities and provide escort for persons using security sensitive areas
- assign parking positions for scheduled and unscheduled air carrier aircraft
- implement wildlife control procedures and ensure compliance with the airport's Wildlife Hazard Management Plan
- manage integrity of airport security access points through routine inspections and documentation
- monitor safe vehicle operations on movement and non-movement areas and conduct ramp security patrols
- respond to emergencies, perform accident investigations, and report data to department management
- implement snow and ice control procedures and conduct friction testing activities during inclement weather
- issue and file Notices to Airmen and update field condition reports
- coordinate special events to maintain safety and aircraft operation efficiency
- ensure tenant compliance with airport safety regulations
- handle and investigate complaints and critical issues to provide high level customer service
- enforce authority rules and issue violation notices as appropriate
- monitor effectiveness of policies and recommend improvements
- serve as liaison to internal departments and outside agencies to ensure effective communication
- issue permits, licenses, airport badges and identification materials
- maintain operational records and prepare reports
- represent the department in various projects and assist with budget administration
- respond to aircraft incidents and coordinate emergency airport operations
- participate in development and implementation of training programs and conduct emergency and safety training
- provide technical counsel for emergency preparedness planning
- ensure compliance with emergency and compliance plans
- assist in investigations of airport emergencies involving injuries or property damage
