Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license that meets insurance requirements
  • Ability to pass drug screenings, background investigations, SIDA training, and AOA driver training
  • Ability to operate motorized vehicles and conduct physical inspections of airport facilities
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme weather, noise, and chemicals commonly found on airport premises
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to understand and apply airport rules, safety standards, and emergency protocols
  • Ability to effectively communicate and establish working relationships with tenants, employees, and the public
  • Physical ability to kneel, crouch and access difficult areas of the airport
  • Ability to respond appropriately in emergency and unusual airfield situations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Aviation Science, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience in airport operations or administration, or a high school diploma with equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to interact well with the public and airport stakeholders
  • Knowledge of FAR Part 139, TSR Part 1542 and other federal, state, and local aviation regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to conduct training and emergency drills
  • Ability to analyze situations objectively and make sound judgments
  • Experience in airport safety, security, and operational procedures

Job Duties

  • Manage daily airport operations through inspections of airfield, terminal, and landside facilities
  • Document and analyze inspection results to ensure compliance with Airport Certification Manual and federal regulations
  • Conduct wildlife control and animal patrols to implement the Wildlife Hazard Management Plan
  • Maintain airport security access points by routine inspections and documentation
  • Monitor and enforce safe vehicle operations on movement and non-movement areas
  • Respond to emergencies, conduct accident investigations, report data, and recommend improvements
  • Implement snow and ice control procedures and perform friction testing during inclement weather
  • Issue and file Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) and update field condition reports
  • Coordinate special events and facilitate aircraft operations during maintenance or unusual activity
  • Conduct tenant compliance inspections and enforce Authority rules and regulations
  • Handle customer complaints and investigate critical issues ensuring high service levels
  • Serve as liaison to internal departments and outside agencies to maintain effective communications
  • Issue permits, licenses, airport badges following security standards
  • Maintain records, prepare operational reports, and take on collateral duties such as Wildlife Hazard Program Manager
  • Participate in staff training, emergency preparedness, and department budget development
  • Respond to security breaches, aircraft incidents, and coordinate emergency activities
  • Conduct emergency and safety training including classroom and scenario exercises
