Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license maintained per insurance requirements
- Ability to pass background investigation including criminal and prior employment checks
- Ability to pass random drug screenings
- Ability to complete and maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) training
- Ability to complete and maintain Airport Operations Area (AOA) driver training
- Ability to learn and understand FAA regulations including FAR Part 139 and TSR Part 1542
- Ability to operate motorized vehicle safely
- Visual acuity with or without corrective lenses to identify colors and inspect airfield conditions
- Auditory acuity with or without devices to decipher radio communications and alarms
- Ability to perform physical inspections including kneeling and crouching
- Ability to access all airport areas for inspections
- Ability to tolerate exposure to varied temperature, airborne particulates, chemicals, noise levels, and electrical hazards
- Availability to work night, holiday, weekend, rotating, or irregular shifts including 12-hour rotation
- Ability to respond to and assist with emergencies involving personal injury or property damage
- Ability to handle occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Aviation Science, Business Administration, or relevant field
- Minimum of one year experience in airport operations or administration
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to interact well with the public and all airport stakeholders
- Ability to establish and communicate performance standards
- Strong communication skills for preparing reports and presentations
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and direct airport operations activities
- Ability to make sound judgments in emergency situations
- Experience conducting training and emergency exercises
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and regulations governing airport safety and security
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with tenants, employees, and the public
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) and Airport Operations Area (AOA) driver training.
Job Duties
- Manage the daily operation of the airport through airfield, terminal, and landside facility inspections to ensure compliance and customer service
- Document and analyze inspection results and coordinate corrective actions per the Airport Certification Manual and federal regulations
- Conduct inspections of airfield facilities including grounds, safety areas, runways, taxiways, fencing, aircraft aprons, taxilanes, and service roadways to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Monitor airfield activities, provide escorts for persons using Airport Operations Area (AOA) or Security Identification Display Area (SIDA)
- Assign parking positions for scheduled and unscheduled air carrier aircraft
- Implement wildlife control procedures and conduct wildlife and perimeter fence patrols
- Manage airport security access points through inspections and documentation to maintain compliance with security plans and regulations
- Monitor and ensure safe vehicle operations on movement and non-movement areas
- Conduct ramp security patrols and respond to security breaches
- Respond to emergencies, perform accident investigations, report data, and provide improvement strategies
- Implement snow and ice control procedures and conduct friction testing during inclement weather
- Issue and file Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) and update field condition reports
- Coordinate special events ensuring safe and efficient aircraft operations
- Facilitate aircraft operations during maintenance, construction, diversions, or unusual activity
- Ensure tenant compliance by conducting safety inspections and following up on corrective actions
- Handle and investigate complaints and critical issues, ensuring high customer service levels
- Enforce Authority rules, issue violation notices as necessary
- Monitor and recommend improvements to policies and procedures
- Serve as liaison to internal departments and outside agencies and maintain good relationships with users and tenants
- Issue permits, licenses, airport badges, and identification materials per security standards
- Maintain records, prepare reports and correspondence, and assist in budget development
- Conduct emergency and safety training including classroom, table-top, and real time exercises
- Coordinate airport activities with emergency personnel during incidents and recovery
- Provide technical counsel on emergency preparedness planning and training
- Respond to airport emergencies involving personal injuries or property damage and assist in investigations
- Perform additional duties such as staff scheduling, training, technical library maintenance, certification, and communications.
