Job Requirements
- Possess Florida law enforcement certification prior to hire
- Meet minimum age requirement per Florida State Statutes, preferably 21 years or older
- Hold a high school diploma or GED certificate
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Meet physical, vision, and moral character standards
- Have no felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanors
- Pass comprehensive background, drug, driving, and employment history checks
- Possess a valid Florida driver's license
- Able to meet restrictive drug standards
- Complete probationary period of 12 months successfully
Job Qualifications
- Possess Florida law enforcement certification or be enrolled in a Florida law enforcement academy
- High school diploma or GED certificate meeting state standards
- Knowledge of law enforcement principles, methods, and practices
- Knowledge of police report writing techniques
- Skilled in defensive tactics and communication
- Ability to perform CPR and basic life-saving activities
- Ability to use hand gun, police radio, and related equipment
- Ability to write technical reports and conduct interviews
- Ability to establish effective relationships with citizens and coworkers
Job Duties
- Perform professional law enforcement work to maintain order and protect the public
- Detect and prevent crime at the Orlando International Airport
- Direct and control traffic within airport premises
- Investigate and apprehend suspects involved in criminal activity
- Secure airport facilities and provide education and training
- Operate under general supervision of a Police Sergeant
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive reports and documentation
