Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum age eighteen years
  • one year of customer service, volunteer or sales experience
  • complete fluency in English
  • able to use computers and related equipment
  • must complete job-related assessment
  • must adhere to JetBlue Uniform Policy Manual Standards
  • availability to work variable and flexible shifts including holidays and weekends
  • ability to use handheld radios and microphones
  • must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area badge
  • able to perform under pressure and within time constraints
  • may need valid driver license and meet insurance standards depending on location
  • may need to acquire US Customs Clearance depending on location
  • available for occasional overnight travel
  • must pass ten year background check and drug test
  • legally authorized to work in the US
  • internal candidates must be in good standing with attendance, performance, and safety

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • at least eighteen (18) years old
  • one (1) year of customer service, volunteer or sales experience
  • strong interpersonal and listening skills
  • complete fluency in written and spoken English
  • experience using computer, mouse, keyboard, and office applications
  • ability to use handheld radios and microphones for communication and announcements
  • able to pass background check and drug test
  • legally eligible to work in the US
  • good standing in attendance, performance, and safety for internal candidates
  • preferred two (2) years of customer service, volunteer or sales experience
  • knowledge of customer service principles
  • experience with various forms of payment
  • previous airline experience
  • bilingual skills

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • conduct check-in process for customers via computer
  • verify customers' personal identification
  • tag, lift, and handle customer luggage
  • announce flight arrivals, departures, and pre-boarding information via the public address system
  • communicate with customers to keep them constantly informed
  • offer ancillary products such as "even more speed" and "even more space"
  • coordinate duties with coworkers and other departments to ensure proper handling of customers
  • help prepare aircraft cabin for boarding and departure, including light cleaning
  • operate airport equipment such as jet bridges, turbo ways, and airstairs
  • assist customers with special needs
  • perform or rotate through all Airport Operations functions
  • ensure and maintain a safe environment and operation
  • perform other duties as assigned
