Job Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautics, Airway Science, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field
- Four years of progressively responsible experience in Airport Operations or Maintenance
- Valid Class C Texas driver’s license
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances
- Ability to obtain all required security badge access including Customs Border Patrol within 6 months
- Experience in lead or supervisory capacity may substitute education on a year-for-year basis
- Bachelor’s degree in related field may substitute two years of experience
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and airport safety protocols
Job Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautics, Airway Science, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field
- Four years of progressively responsible experience in Airport Operations or Maintenance
- Pilot’s certificate, Control Tower Operator certificate or industry-specific certifications preferred
- Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 139, National Fire Protection Association regulations and 150 Series Advisory Circulars
- Effective communication skills in tense and diverse situations
- Experience handling aircraft emergencies and wildlife mitigation
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of airport airside operations and stakeholder coordination
- Ability to pass security requirements and background checks
- Valid Class C Texas driver’s license
Job Duties
- Ensure compliance with Title 14, Code Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 139 by conducting daily inspections of runways, taxiways, ramps and aeronautical areas
- Coordinate responses to aircraft emergencies, hazardous material incidents and medical emergencies according to the Airport Emergency Plan
- Identify and anticipate operational and safety concerns maintaining surveillance and radio contact with control tower
- Conduct airfield tenant fuel inspections and recommend corrective actions enforcing regulations
- Coordinate and monitor daily work on or near the Airport Operation Area (AOA) with airport sections, FAA, and stakeholders to ensure safety
- Monitor construction personnel activities on or near the AOA ensuring compliance with operational safety regulations
- Conduct wildlife management in accordance with the Wildlife Hazard Management Plan and federal regulations
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports and operations logs
- Participate in emergency exercises and resource response tests
- Communicate with airlines, tenants and airport personnel to resolve airside operation issues and explain policies
- Respond to off-airport locations to investigate and correct airspace violations
- Enforce airfield safety, operational and parking regulations, recommend issuance of Notices of Violation
- Observe and report tenant activities for compliance with leases, contracts, and policies
- Stay current with legislation ensuring compliance with federal, state and local requirements
- Complete projects and perform related duties to enhance safety, security and productivity
