Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Two years of security or airport-related experience
- Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Capability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- Physical ability to walk for prolonged periods over rough or uneven surfaces
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Ability to follow TSA employment disqualifiers
- Ability to operate personal or City vehicles safely
- Comply with City business driving policies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work full-time in a 3rd shift schedule
Job Qualifications
- Two years of experience serving as a security guard and/or working in an airport capacity or environment
- Experience with writing reports
- Experience in conflict resolution
- Experience in emergency response
- Experience in observation and inspections
- Knowledge of airport operations and/or security
- Proven ability to provide excellent customer service
- Experience in rule enforcement and compliance
- Aviation related training and/or education
- Ability to work with and assist customers in varying stressful situations
- Experience resolving customer issues and providing public information in a friendly manner
- Airport Certified Employee AAAE in Airport Operations or Airport Security or Airport Communications is a plus
- Classes completed towards a bachelor’s degree in aviation such as Aviation Management, Safety Science, Global Security and Intelligence Studies, or any other Aviation related field is a plus
Job Duties
- Provide traffic and crowd control
- Provide excellent customer service to the traveling public at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport
- Perform security checks
- Issue notices of violations
- Respond to alerts and emergencies
- Comply with and enforce FAA rules and regulations
- Enforce city codes along with airport rules and regulations
- Provide service to tenants and stakeholders
- Provide vehicle and aircraft escorts in the movement area
- Provide exceptional customer services to tenants, stakeholders, team, and the public
