Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business, public administration or related field
  • Minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in aviation management, public administration, business administration or related field
  • Certification from American Association of Airport Executives preferred or ability to obtain within 24 months
  • Ability to manage complex projects and coordinate multiple stakeholders
  • Proven experience with FAA and TSA regulations and compliance
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business, public administration or related field
  • Master’s degree in public administration or related field preferred
  • Minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in aviation management, public administration, business administration or related field
  • Certification from American Association of Airport Executives preferred or ability to obtain within 24 months
  • FAA certifications such as Pilot Certificates and/or Airplane and Powerplant Certificates desirable
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and capital project management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

Job Duties

  • Manage daily operations and airfield maintenance while supervising operational staff
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness, snow removal, and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee FAA and TSA safety programs ensuring compliance with state and federal standards
  • Drive economic development through partnerships and marketing strategies
  • Pursue and manage funding through federal, state, and private sources including grant lifecycle management
  • Lead long-range infrastructure and capital improvement strategy, including project planning and grant compliance
  • Oversee airport leasing, property acquisition, tenant agreement compliance, and real estate development
  • Act as primary liaison to the Airport Board, FAA, tenants, contractors, and the public
  • Develop annual operating budgets and coordinate the Capital Improvement Program with Municipal Services & Operations Department
  • Prepare reports, manage procurement, and ensure customer service excellence
  • Support city boards, attend industry meetings, and promote the airport through outreach and events
