Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
- Five years progressively responsible experience in aviation or public administration
- Ability to obtain AAAE certification within 24 months preferred
- Knowledge of FAA and TSA regulations and compliance
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in budgeting and capital improvement program management
- Valid driver’s license
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business administration, public administration, or related field
- Preferred master’s degree in public administration or related discipline
- Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in aviation management or public administration
- Certification from American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) preferred or ability to obtain within two years
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and safety compliance
- Proven leadership and team management abilities
- Strong project management and economic development experience
Job Duties
- Manages daily airport operations and airfield maintenance while supervising operational staff
- Coordinates emergency preparedness, snow removal, and regulatory compliance
- Oversees FAA and TSA safety programs ensuring all operations meet federal and state standards
- Drives economic development through partnerships, marketing strategies, and securing funding from federal, state, and private sources
- Leads long-term infrastructure and capital improvement planning aligned with FAA and city guidelines
- Manages airport leasing, property acquisition, tenant agreements, and real estate development activities
- Acts as primary liaison to Airport Board, FAA, tenants, and the public while preparing reports, managing procurement, and supporting city boards and industry outreach
