Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one year of building and grounds maintenance experience
  • valid California Class C Driver's License
  • ability to obtain Chemical Applicator Certificate
  • ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • ability to operate groundskeeping and small power equipment
  • knowledge of airport safety practices and procedures preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of experience in building and grounds maintenance
  • experience related to airport operations preferred
  • ability to operate grounds maintenance and small power equipment
  • ability to maintain accurate records
  • valid California Class C Driver's License
  • possession or ability to obtain a Chemical Applicator Certificate

Job Duties

  • Patrol airport to inspect and inventory parked aircraft and facilities
  • maintain airfield pavements, markings, lighting, signs, and wildlife control
  • perform preventative maintenance using small hand and power tools and grounds equipment
  • maintain airport grounds and landscaped areas including mowing, chemical applications, pruning, and irrigation systems
  • conduct routine building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, mechanical repairs, custodial duties, painting, fencing, and door lubrication
  • fuel aircraft using mobile fueling trucks and ensure safety and compliance of fueling operations
  • perform inspections, testing, documentation of fuel quality and equipment and reorder fuel as necessary
