Job Description

This job opening is with a city-managed Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at an airport, a vital facility offering diverse services to aircraft owners and operators. The FBO serves as the central hub for aviation operations at the airport, providing essential ground services that ensure the safety, efficiency, and convenience of aircraft handling and passenger care. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to work shifts including weekends and holidays
  • ability to perform physical labor and operate ground service equipment safely
  • valid driver's license
  • ability to communicate effectively with pilots, passengers, and team members
  • basic knowledge of aircraft and airport operations
  • commitment to safety practices
  • willingness to comply with city policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in aircraft ground handling or airport operations preferred but not required
  • knowledge of fuel handling and safety procedures beneficial
  • ability to perform manual labor and physically demanding tasks
  • good customer service and communication skills
  • basic mechanical aptitude for minor maintenance tasks
  • ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • valid driver's license

Job Duties

  • Safely service and fuel all types of aircraft and airport equipment
  • marshall aircraft during arrivals and departures
  • greet pilots and assist passengers with luggage
  • remove trash and clean aircraft
  • tow aircraft safely to and from hangers
  • perform aircraft ground power unit and lavatory operations
  • conduct minor maintenance on airport equipment
  • unload and load fuel transport trucks and record fuel distribution
  • inspect fuel for clarity and contaminants and report issues immediately
  • monitor ramp area security and conduct daily foreign object debris (FOD) inspections
  • obtain and record differential pressure readings
  • perform Millpore and Aqua Glow fuel tests monthly
  • maintain cleanliness of terminal building, hangars, and control tower
  • position and inspect rental cars
  • comply with all city policies and attendance schedules
  • perform other duties as assigned by the FBO General Manager or Airport Manager
