Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Background investigation and pre-employment drug screening
  • Must have NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certificates
  • NFPA 1001 Firefighter II certification required
  • NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials-Operations certification required
  • NFPA 1003 Airport Firefighter certification or FAA-approved training
  • Ohio State Paramedic certification at hire and maintenance throughout employment
  • Valid driver license with acceptable driving record
  • No DUI within last five years
  • Pass FBI fingerprint-based criminal history records check for industrial/customer security badge

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or possession of GED certificate
  • Certified as NFPA 1001 Firefighter II (State or IFSAC)
  • Certified to NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials-Operations (State or IFSAC)
  • Certified as NFPA 1003 Airport Firefighter (State or IFSAC) or completion of FAA 40-hour approved course with current annual burn
  • Certified Ohio State Paramedic at time of hire and maintain EMS certification
  • Possess NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certification
  • Valid driver license with acceptable driving record according to company policy
  • Ability to pass FBI fingerprint-based criminal history records check

Job Duties

  • Combat and extinguish aircraft, structural, ground equipment and other fires
  • Respond to emergency calls promptly and effectively
  • Operate and maintain fire department equipment, apparatus and station facilities
  • Participate in firefighting and rescue training activities
  • Protect life and property through firefighting and rescue operations
  • Perform maintenance and care of fire department property and equipment
  • Follow specific orders and directions from supervising officers
