Job Requirements

  • Experience in below-wing and ramp airline operational roles
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams
  • Comfortable working with complex operational data
  • Strong customer focus and commercial awareness
  • Flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Proficiency with relevant aviation IT systems including DCS
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the US
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems innovatively
  • Commitment to safety, security and regulatory compliance

Job Qualifications

  • Proven management experience in below-wing/ramp airline operations
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to lead and manage teams and suppliers
  • Proficiency with Departure Control Systems and automated check-in
  • Familiarity with ticketing, fare rules, baggage services, aircraft loading, weight and balance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to unsocial hours
  • Customer-centric approach with commercial foresight
  • Experience in budget management
  • Analytical skills to interpret complex data
  • Legal right to live and work in the US

Job Duties

  • Preparing and planning ahead for the operational day considering operational implications to make proactive decisions to safeguard customer experience and operation
  • Be accountable for effective disruption management to meet customer expectations and service standards including appropriate action such as compensation and care packaging
  • Business and contingency planning ensuring all corporate safety and security procedures are followed to meet regulatory standards and deliver customer experience
  • Collate information from multiple internal and external sources to assess and make right operational decisions timely
  • Lead, empower, engage and coordinate all areas of the operation including in-source and outsource teams to deliver the VAA service and meet OTP and revenue targets
  • Manage financials including vendor contract delivery to agreed SLAs and commercial impact of decisions
  • Provide accurate, timely feedback to supervisors on individual and team performance to support mentoring and talent identification
  • Build and maintain relationships with airport authorities and key partners
  • Monitor contractor performance ensuring service delivery consistent with VAA employee standards
