Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Five years of professional experience in commercial service airport operations or related experience including three years of supervisory experience
  • Valid Class C Texas Driver's License
  • Must pass TSA Security Threat Assessment and Criminal History Records Check upon employment
  • Must maintain federally mandated security clearance required to work at an airport at all times
  • Must pass Criminal Justice Information Systems fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility
  • Ability to work rotating schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to perform physical, intellectual, and analytical requirements of the position including decision making
  • Strong communication and supervision skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Five years of professional experience in commercial service airport operations or related experience
  • Three years of supervisory experience
  • Valid Class C Texas Driver's License
  • Ability to pass Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment and Criminal Justice Information Systems fingerprint-based background check
  • Knowledge of FAA and TSA policies and regulations
  • Knowledge of airport emergency procedures and Safety Management System principles
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) and office equipment
  • Ability to analyze, report complex operating conditions, and recommend solutions

Job Duties

  • Plans, implements, and administers goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the AICC
  • Maintains overall situational awareness regarding the airport operation and identifies areas of concern impacting operational flow
  • Acts as the airport's representative in Unified Command or as Incident Commander during emergency responses
  • Exercises critical thinking in daily responsibilities
  • Oversees and coordinates airport airside, landside, and terminal operations
  • Ensures day-of operational flow is managed through standard operating procedures and policies
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises personnel
  • Manages and mitigates irregular operations
  • Collaborates with divisional representatives to make effective decisions
  • Facilitates daily stand-up calls and briefings
  • Ensures effective pass-on information to oncoming shift
  • Escalates decisions to higher authority when necessary
